2 easy and free ways to get your blog mobile

Here is my selection of two free and simple web apps to mobilize your blog, with a focus on WordPress.

Mippin: my first choice for a mobile version of my blog

I first tested Mippin. I enjoyed this user-friendly website that allows you to get easily a preview of the result without registration. I strongly recommend the web marketers to adopt this approach as it often makes a difference! I paste my RSS and the result is displayed immediately. I can choose between List or Gallery to adapt the layout if my blog is more text or video or picture-oriented.

I then personalize it with my colors and it’s done!

Another great functionality: get a preview of your mobile blog on BlackBerry, I-Phone and other kinds of mobile phones.

My enthusiasm is just tempered by the navigation: I found it hard to find the sign-in page, the link should be more easily accessible.

What about WordPress? OK, I give you the tip: don’t be afraid to go to the Developers section to get the plug-in Mobilize by Mippin. Once installed, WordPress will automatically detect if a mobile user wants to access your blog and will display the mobile version. Is it not positively cool?

Mofuse: to be tested!

I confess that my try with Mippin was successful enough to adopt it. Mofuse seems to be just as good as Mippin: an easy and intuitive access, graphical personalization, stats and even the WP plug-in.

Mofuse adds an interesting feature: the SMS widget. Users just give their mobile number and get the URL of your mobile blog. I would have preferred to be able to personalize this form, but it’s still impressive!

My popularity being what it is, I will not speak about the possibility offered by these services to monetize these mobile versions… Perhaps in another life!
